seriously guys - before everyone gets so friggin defensive, let's just focus on the main points:
1) it just woulda been cooler if it was re-drawn (THAT's what lichtenstein did)
2) if credit was given to the designer AND the printer on the poster itself, but not the illustrator, that's messed up.
you can intellectualize it all you want, and argue the "point" of gigposters in general, or even how well done the poster is overall (which again, i think is well-designed). but i'll say it again, if anyone used my illustration without my permission (especially if they got paid in using it), and didn't at least credit me, i would be truly pissed. anyone who wants to dispute how fucked up that is has either never had that happen to them, or never done anything worth stealing anyway.
and anyone who knows anything about steranko knows he probably wouldn't appreciate this.

yeah man, no hard feelings or anything. i'm just saying, if someone used my illustration to make a poster and put their name on it, and not mine, i'd probably be pretty pissed.
i'm not discounting the work you did to make the poster, it's well designed. but you went out of your way to credit yourself and the printer on the poster, but never mention jim.
and i don't mean to single you out, i know this happens very often. it's just my opinion, as a fellow illustrator. it WOULDA been cooler if you did draw this. and i happen to be a steranko fan, so this one really caught my eye.
which is the whole idea, i guess.
