One venue hardly equates to 'owning the english poster scene'. They have however given people a chance over here of actually making a poster (and making money) for a signed band in Manchester/Nottingham.
So how is that a band thing?
I still contact management and promoters and still do posters for them. The Goodalls offer me another route to getting my work seen and sold, for which im greatful for.
Graham I see where you are coming from. I am talking about the venue. The goodall gallery has worked hard to get a venue on side for us artists to do posters for bands in this one venue.
Posters like this dont really help the 'cause' for other venues/bands coming on side.
I dont rely on the Goodalls for a gig poster to do, I still do flyers for friends bands and other venues. They do however give me the oppurtunity to do things correctly and make some money out of my art .
Id really like to see Matt approaching the gallery to do posters for the Academy here in Manchester , the more the merrier.I just like to see things done correctly. It all helps in the long run for gigposter artists here in the Uk, you know ?
