I pick up a paint brush, I'm already thinking like a critic, analyzing my moves, content, intent, subject matter, all that craziness which is basically useless when it comes down to color and shape.
I pick up an ink brush, nothing matters, i want to WORK!! I'll do anything, well, MOST anything without a second thought. With ink I'm fearless, with paint, man, it's just so LOADED for me.
I did do some "Ugly" paintings a few months ago, to lighten up. They're funny.
I don't think there are any rules about making posters, which is why I'm having so much fun.
Comics has rules, and takes time. Posters are pure fun for me, and I don't make ANY money doing it.
Painting can frustrate me, only becuase i am paralyzed by my own inner critic. I've seen so much, read tons of theory, I just don't feel it there like I do drawing stupid stuff for rock shows.
