Articles of faith were really fucking intense. Especially if you were (like me ) a 15 year old from the suburbs. Vic Bondi was just great. The drag toward the end was the violent shit that would happen with the dickheads ruining the whole night... I saw some fucked up fights at those shows. Albini and Bondi didnt get along so well, so it was a wierd different scene at those shows. The first time I saw AOF was at a nine band show to benefit WNUR, this record release show for this great comp (The mid-america comp) that all of my friends passed around and listened to religiously. So the bill was like, AOF, Big Black,Naked Raygun, Effigies,Savage Beliefs, and a bunch of others. It was pretty diverse, now that I look back at it.

Oh man. Im now thinking of the really really bad hardcore bands that popped up in 1983-4 like Lost Cause... the worst wankery.

It would have been fun for Austin and Chicago to trade thier bands for a week in , say, 1982.

Then you could have seen Big Black, Effigies,Articles of Faith, Naked Raygun (with 2 guitarists, one being Santiago Durango), Strike Under , Savage Beliefs...

And I could have seen the Big Boys...
