Ok. I was not trying to be insulting. My work is simplistic and it gets compared to many other all of the time -- I don't think that's a bad thing. As far as faux-naive, I was referring to a style that is developed outside of traditional artistic exposure, like Howard Finster and how his style has influenced contemporaries like Yee Haw Press. To me, posters like this very much draw upon outsider art (the term I probably should have used) influences and that was all I was trying to express.
I'm with Zach. I think this particular design genre can't help but look like everything else - it's just too simplistic and faux-naive to ever transcend into a unique, trademark style.
