I found Okie Noodlin' to be a little boring if not interesting. But mostly because I know a few Okies. It was too "PBS" for me.

I highly recomend U all tap into those same old blues if you haven't already.
THe chick that made that, Margaret Brown, has a new doc out that's been getting good reviews. I can't remember the name of it, but it's about segregated Mardi Gras celebrations in the city she's from. Apparently they still go on today with these secret clubs that date back a bit.

I just watched a doc on Christo and his Central Park Gate project...

really interesting... plus, it shows that New York street people have a better grasp on art and what art is than all the fur coat wearing high society... and Christo recognizes that.

yeah "Stevie" is great, also "Capturing the Friedmans" - both very courageous for taking on child abuse/pedophilia in a hysterical moral climate....a non-documentary film that deals with the complexities of this issue is Greg Araki's "Mysterious Skin," a great film

these are also classic documentaries:

Harlan County, USA
Salesman
American Movie
Lessons of Darkness
Crumb
In the Year of the Pig
Paradise Lost
Land of Silence & Darkness
Dark Days
Hearts of Darkness
Little Dieter Needs to Fly
Bus 174
