Hatrobot as we have a little collaboration going and my side is nearly finished.
I received an pm from Ohlerking saying premium membership link doesnt work for him... but I think after 3 fucking years you would maybe try and see what is up with that... Ohlerking... don't call me bitchy because you can't figure out how to PM or email Clay
the best thing about it is that dave just posts his stuff and never has a bad thing to say about anyone (that i've noticed) and then all you guys do is bad mouth him. i mean, he doesn't even call out the stuff that sucks.
anyway, good job everyone.
Oh please, this was the gentlest beat-down in GP history. I stand by everything I said. Which was pretty diplomatic, actually.
If the artist did occasionally participate in site, answer technical questions, comment on posters, or others' artworks, even just to call out the stuff that sucks, then nobody would be "bad-mouthing" his image posting habits because they wouldn't seem like drive-by spam. I hope he will. A premium membership, a fresh start, and welcome to GP.
I don't make it over to this thread nearly enough.
Per the above discussion, I was curious about my own contributions over the last few years. So I found a post of mine and clicked on my comments - a pretty cool way to see what you were digging at the time. But it also made me realize some of the GP faux-pas that I'd unknowingly committed. As a newer member, I'll say there's definitely a learning curve when it comes to the GP do's and don'ts (some more obvious than others). Though, If you keep your eyes open you'll notice and adapt, or you won't and be run off. Aside from that, when it comes to contribution, an equal amount of give and take is the key here - that's what keeps this whole damn thing spinning.
In the words of Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrel in The Other Guys, "Fresh start".
as the dude whos name is on this thread, just tossing my cents in that i think david o's work is rad and loose and fun.
sure theres 500 paintings posted, but the dude PAINTED 500 PAINTINGS. im jealous of that output and dedication. if you think hes posting too much art in an art thread, post more of your own art and even it out.
I am impressed with the amount of work David produces, and initially thought it was not all too bad either... but i noticed that i stopped visiting this thread on a daily basis due to his overkill. Would be good if there was a bit more variation or progression in his work.
Ugh, if you guys just put the same amount of effort into these posts into something as simple as a post-it note sketch...
I've had this artwork on the back burner for a while too long I feel like. Might be using it as a Shirt/Album art for my friends' band Wolf Blood. Colors next.
Edit: A series of sketches prior:
Here's an initial sketch based on a little riddle my friend left with me before going to France.
Some new junk...
