First, thanks to everyone who posted constructive comments. Poster art is in it's own category, as far as design goes, and most of who posted are great artists in this field. This was in no way an attempt at being sexist, as that in no way reflects the person I am. I only mentioned my job title to express that what I do is create and oversee the brand of PromoWest Productions. Web design, digital multimediia, print,etc. I do poster art for the love, nothing else. One last comment to Maximum Flouride. I appreciate your opinion. However, the band has copies, signed 5 for our venue and told me personally during their meet and greet at our venue, The LC, that they loved them. |

my only issue is that it doesn't have a single thing to do with the band. In fact I say ( and I can because I have done official merch for them and have worked under their very strict visual guidelines) that this is really far off the mark for what they would ever want to see in association with their band name. Whatever for the actual execution. People sometimes think I talk out my ass about my critiques regarding the appropriateness of imagery for some bands. But I actually have some knowledge in this case. It's WAY off. Way. |

Looking at my post, I chose my words poorly to try and iterate what it was I wanted to get across.
I don't promote misogyny. At all.
I was trying to say that digging through this site and rooting out/condemning sexism would be a task that might take you a few decades.

While I think this isn't what I'd call "good" per se, I like the idea he had with the illo and am still curious to see his direction as he (hopefully) continues. Disparaging remarks, while sometimes funny, can be a little much, especially to people new at making posters.
Still, I guess one has to take their knocks. |
