funny man! i imagine they WISH they could get their hands on some corporate cash, but not so. some good corporate funding could help out a lot of struggling musicians through that magazine. but, i imagine they think that's bad for business in corporateworld- throwing good money after bad. |

everybody should go read "no depression" magazine for six months and then come back here and talk about "good country music." then, i'll listen. |

Kelly Willis has a new album out, the first from her in five years.
I like Patty Loveless too. Both get to the core of country. |

I can't even really think of what passes for country these days as country—at least not the country I grew up with—and I blame Alabama. |

country music is in the saddest state since the early 80s. I caught part of the latest "awards" show and it was godawful. I love me some good country music, but most anything post Garth is pretty bad. But Earl had to die is gooood.... |

That's really damned awesome—the poster itself and the fact that PM did one for that guy. I mean I'm not crazy about him or anything, but it says a lot.
He's one of the only mainstream country acts that is really catching on to the whole idea of the contemporary gigposter. Which is cool for us—maybe not so much for the likes of Hatch though.
I did one for him too for the Greenville, SC show through Outback. It's not up yet. But all they wanted was a digital file, which I thought was kind of lame.
At any rate, right on ya'll. |
