SPOT's still active. he played at the last garageshock (which was held in austin - first time it wasn't in bellingham). he still does some production work and he makes music for himself. plays a lot with tim kerr, i guess. |

my first one was for The Kamikaze Refrigerators way back in 1983 or so..then one for Spot...then zip until 1989 for the Pain Teens..then many singles....then TONS.
I quit keeping trachk around 1997.
I have NO idea what all I have done.
I was up to like 2800 finished projects in 97. who knows now?
not important. new stuff every day is all that counts.
I figure maybe someday some nut job will try to compile a record of it all..GOOD LUCK.
today for example I did like 14 toy layouts. when you swap the heads around it's like 84 variants or some shit.

chloe - i used to buy that nihilistic tortured artist stuff, but after i kept living, i had to come up with something else. i actually had a rifle in my mouth when i was about 22 or so, but i somehow talked myself into waiting until my 25th birthday, and do it then if things didn't improve. i'm 48 now. my 25th bd came and went before i remembered my pact. glad i waited. living turned out to be the best revenge.
frank - about five years ago i thought i'd count up all the record covers i'd done. i remember losing track around 450. seems kinda pointless, now. but i still remember how thrilled i was when i did my first one - it was for a bargain label. it was a record by jimmy ibbotson, who had left the nitty gritty dirt band. the record was called 'nitty gritty ibbotson'. it sucked. so did my cover. i didn't care. iwas thrilled. it was 1979, i think. |

this image is actually the electronic file. The poster was screened on kraft paper like brown paper so it is the same colors but on brown substrate. The texture was created ala photoshop by tweaking here and there.. it was seven years ago but i think what I did was draw the image of the skuls and flowers, scan it in and placed in Freehand. Then set the text and borders, then exported that entire file into photoshop as a black and white line art image. Blurred it a little, threw in some noise filter then saved as a bitmap using halftone screen with the line shape option set at about 12 lines per inch with the screen angle at 90°... |

No shit its awesome...it totally looks embroidered sp? and on top of it the layout is perfect...font choice perfect...one serif one san serif...That is an idea though, an embroidered poster...if this one is not already - a bit of a rip but its just too good. Charlies best. |
