Paul, I don't care enough about you to make fun of you anymore. In fact, I don't care enough about you to call you Paul.
Now listen, Puh. I didn't have a life before you came, and I sure as hell won't have one by the time you shutup and start lurking. So there.
As far as 'criticism' goes, you're a shitstirrer, plain and simple. You want to critique art? Maybe you hang around the boards for a while and build an esteemable reputation for yourself so that people actually respect your opinion. Or you could go the other route and pop up on the radar by being a complete carpet muncher and spouting vomments on a number of established artists' works.
Suit yourself.
Not sure, maybe the show needed some more push, or maybe there was some extra budget money that opened up and they decided to use it on more posters....which in turn is good for you guys i guess.
I got tired of reading the comments about half way up. Bottom line I like the poster and I find it interesting. But who cares what I think.
Opinions are like...
i'm like a dog that just licked engine coolant from the garage floor.
a. i was warned not to do it
b. i knew it was bad for me
c. i did it anyway
d. now i feel sick
The beauty of the lemonparty threadbomb is that no amount of fair warning will prevent people from looking. But, to be fair, the discussion has in fact gotten that gay.
Connie, it wasn't a criticism, nor was it my intention to imply you do nothing but the porn posters. More that it shows diversity, making Paul's negative comments all the more ridiculous.
"s for this poster, my opinion is that it shows PM moving in different directions and that's always good."
Our portfolio is nothing if not diverse. Look at all 666 posters of you want evidence. This is not the first time we've gone in another direction. We get accused of being just the porn poster people, but in fact porn posters do not make up the majority of our work.
I'm pleased the finger of GP wrath is pointed elsewhere for a change.
As for this poster, my opinion is that it shows PM moving in different directions and that's always good.
This has been fun and all but I'm sure that there are less boring posters y'all could find to not discuss in the comments section of said poster.
Oh, oops wait. Lots of people emailed to buy this boring ass piece of wallpaper today.
Continue please...
Here's the difference. Richie makes a comment and moves on. You seem to not move on. 6 of the first 12 comments are yours. It's like you're itching to stir shit up. If you want to do that, do it in the forums, not on the comments section. People post their posters and like to see what people think, not flamewars over people looking for attention.
It's too bad, because I like your Blonde Redhead poster, but knowing the guy behind it is a douche kinda sours it for me.
it doesn't devalue your opinion silly, but it gives the audience a point of reference.
anyone can be a critic, but if you yourself make posters (or movies or whatever) and you want to say "this sucks," you have to be prepared for your own work to be evaluated, and the weight of your opinion would be based on that. (at least in my book)
So taking part in something automatically devalues your opinion of that thing? A "fan" of gigposters can say as they please, but a person who has made a handful of posters has to defend their opinions in a completely different way?
This is some fertile philosophical ground here. Very engaging. Like The Lake House, my fave movie of 2006.
You haven't noticed that I don't really respond to you. This is a momentary break in protocol, just to let you know that there is really no point in typing my name anymore to get my attention as you are incapable of saying anything that warrants a response from me.
End transmission. Radio silence re initiated.
I don't buy the pot/kettle/black line of thinking myself. I don't need to raise millions of dollars, write a script, hire a movie crew and direct & edit a film to be able to say that "Reindeer Games" was a terrible goddamned movie.
not angry at all , just find it hard to believe that someone who does such tame , wallpaper-esque , personality-free work harping on other peep's stuff being boring.
sound abit like the story of the pot an' the kettle.
