i was watching a collection of old psych videos from the 60's and there was a clip of the old amboy dukes playing "journey to the center of your moind". the lead singer on that was actually a guy who just happened to be visiting the studio, i guess (thus the hit). the nuge was standing off to the side and the camera payed no attention to him until his long solo. he played his guitar up high to his chest (think: gerry & the pacemakers) and he wore a SUIT! imagine a psych band with the singer in a long flowing frock and beatle hair and funny shaped glasses and a light show and craziness all around and the lead guitar is wearing a suit. thud.

I saw him in concert at the height of his popularity. The concert was pretty mediocre. He's a decent guitarist (or was) but his personality has ruined his music. I like the illo, though.

the long road down: the nuge is playing the indian casino down there in fife (near tacoma) in the next week or so. he's up after paul anka and the before the ohio players. wonder if i'll have to stand in line for tix?
