It's a nothing more than a matter of two dudes drawing from the same inspiration. I don't think there is any foulpaly. I did the Hellacopters stuff in '97 or so and the look was just what the job required at the time. Here it is: http://www.patentpendingindustries.com/HellaCD.jpg The red and orange cover in the bottom right was the one the band rejected in favor of putting themselves on the cover in purple and blue. A little bit of a bummer but I'm still happy with the overall package.

Zach, I swear on my momma's grave, I've never seen the packaging you're talking about. The typography's actually recycled from a Woodward Dream Cruise piece that got bounced. Plus, I don't know when the hellacopter's packaging came out, but this poster was from 2001.
