It's funny that y'all make such a big deal about the words 'sold out' - lots of posters are solely commemorative. This illustration is amazing! I also think the type looks good, although where the address overlaps his hat it's picking my ass a little. This dude looks a bit like you, Nic.... but with a mullet. Sweet colors, too.

hey.. i just do what they ask me to. in the case of this newest poster... yes its sole purpose is merch. but again, its not my fault that i have been asked to put "sold out" on the posters i've done.
how bout you comment on the art instead.

I was just about to say that... Posters are essentially ads for people to buy tickets to shows (but also artistic - don't flame me...). This does seem pointless on a sell out.

isn't it kind of pointless to make a poster for a show and state on said poster that it's SOLD OUT? doesn't it then make this poster just merch and not promotional material?
never seen this before and this artist's posters all have this on it.
