back in 1980 (his first show in the nw for, what? ever? everybody in 'the seattle punk scene' wanted to hang with him be his friend. they all doted on him and gave him beer and drugs and whatever he wanted. then he fucked eveybody's girlfriends. by the time he left he was personna non grata (at least among the boys. the girls were still all glazed over).

I saw him play in '82...kinda when he was at rock bottom. He was like 2 hours late coming onstage..all drunk or high..he was wearing lipstick, a letaher jacket, panties, fishnets and bright red jigh heel pumps. He just stood there for a while, swaying back and forth, glaring...then they did like 2 songs and it was over. This was at Clubfoot, pretty big place, and the tickets where * bucks, which was like a fortune then. So when it becomes apparent that the show was OVER...everyone basically rioted. The club had to call in a bomb threat on itself so the fire dept and cops would come and clear the place. I was bummed then, but in retrospect... how perfect. -the ancient mariner-
