Some of their stuff I find really striking, but I think that there is a sort of knee-jerking gushing of praise for their stuff that happens around here. I think its rad that they are finding their own way stylistically, but I dont think its really my thing.
However at the same time, they are into different music than I am, so alot of it has to do with that Im sure.
And for what it's worth, people made the same kind of complaints about David Carson in the early 90s. I dont get the same kind of visionary feeling from SP that I got from him, but again, maybe its not FOR me.
See, thing about SP is that they are doing work for clients that WANT their stuff to look like this. They know the look, and thats why they come to SP. Thats what I understand to be true anyway.
301 .. I don't like this style either... I guess its just me and you buddy. I like a few seripop's, but the vast majority of them simply don't do it for me...I'm not sure how it works...Can't ever read anything on the gigposter...not the band name, the time of the event, or the venue. Pretty important if you are advertising a show methinks :-?
I know this is great in it's own right, but am I the only one here that doesn't really dig this style? Just curious, becuase it's starting to feel that way.
I do like a few other Seripops though...
jesus, this represent everything i never be able to do...will have to try to reach the same brilliance on another level..my goal of 2005!...apparently cant get enough of this...
