HozSend Hoz a message :   Jermaine mentioned Ghost Rider AKA Johnny Blaze. I've still got a stack of the 70's Ghost Rider in my closet.   2003-09-19 08:56:48
RevjackalopeSend Revjackalope a message :   Art mentioned it...   2003-09-19 08:26:28
PlantweedSend Plantweed a message :   No one's mentioned this is Ghost Rider, a '70s Marvel Comics character.   2003-09-19 07:06:54
Cody PomeroySend Cody Pomeroy a message :   I don't like how the bottom half seems to be so far separated from the top half..I like both halfs but I think it should have been drawn together a bit more. But I'm a student..what the fuck do I know?   2003-07-16 11:04:24
standardSend standard a message :   Oh, I'm not too into number assigning, I don't think. The whole "rate that girl on a scale of 1-10" thing i was never really good at, as I would constantly shift my criteria and never arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. I'm going to stick with the more generalized
concept: average
craft: above average

so, would you dare score it?

standardSend standard a message :   I think I would place the concept a little lower and the craft a little higher. I think the image is essentially clipart (whether they drew it or not) in terms of it bearing no relation to the band or the music. This could easily be a Nashville Pussy poster or a Marilyn Manson poster. That sort of thing turns me off a bit. Not that I'm very good at it myself.
As far as craft, I like that the bottom info was left intentionally quite bland - somewhat reminiscent of the publisher info on a 50's-60's comic book cover, but not in an overly-mimicking way (at least as far as I know).

art chantrySend art chantry a message :   concept: now, i have to assume that the reason this poster exists is to sell itslef as a product to psuedo-punky pj fans. using the good ol' ghost rider with motorcycle/flaming skull/leathers is perfect adolescent imagery that is sure to sell. so, using that concept as the concept, it succeeds very well. however, as a reflection of the ideas behind the music of pearl jam and the intent of punk and/or rock, it's pretty primitive and unnsophisticated (unlike pj or x), and is a level '101' concpet. score: 25 (as product)
craft; semms to be excellent on all levels - printing, drawing, color, skill-level, everything. even the typography is careefully done and appropriate to the comic concept. my only complaint would be the simplicity and even laziness of the overall design structure: each element is opl;aced in a 'band' and are otherwise disconnected from each other. it's almost like a gag-cartoon with a caption above and below. not much thought or skill in that approach. craft: 30
total 55
