I wasn't talking about this band or this poster. Just the lack of rock-ish posters in general. Like, boring non rock looking posters for rock bands. There seems to be a lot of that.
Not knowing anything about this band I can say that based on this "poster" I would probably not like them nore would I ever go to a show that had this as an ad. Nothing against the poster, but it clearly says " Mike Fisher would not like this show" right on it. It's hard to see but it's there trust me.
I am aalowed to have my own opinions and my own personal likes and dislikes am I not? Or do I have to play nice and say I like every poster even if I don't ?
Errr. I can't imagine that Broken Social Scene would want a stereotypical "ROCK" poster (skulls, naked women, things being electrocuted...etc). They probably fall into the "art" band category.
You can, however, feel bad for them since they're an art rock band and that the message of this poster seems to be that they'll put you to sleep.
"what are the pantones?"
The Pantone colour matching system is an international colour system that is used throughout printing, publishing and packaging industries to provide an accurate method for the selection, reproduction and matching of colour.. :o
Glad you guys dig it, and that some of you hate it too. Figure that's a good sign.
I'll save you one, Mister King.
....and one for Mister Gootimes as well, so he'll have something to sleep on when he passes out on my floor again at flatstock.
Sorry Fish. If you knew the band you'd know it fits. not lame at all.
Andy, Christian did the design and it's based on the whole content of their lyrics and their name. The Scissors and the "cut here" line represent cutting a relationship in half and how it leaves you sleeping alone on half a pillow/bed.
