the secret to removing the microscopic fiberglass shards from your skin is to alternate running cold then hot water on the area, over and over for a few minutes.
that's my tip for the day.
i used to have a dog that liked to sleep in insulation. we couldn't figure out why his skin was so screwed up until one day he came running out of a crawl space in the attic.
i think that conner's posters just keep getting better and better.
i'm totally for lifting imagery. that's one of the most exciting aspects of this medium. so many classic rock posters have done the same thing and this is just part of a tradition.
conner doesn't seem to be trying to pass the illustration off as something he hasn't borrowed.
I dont see the problem. so he lifted. so what. even the SACRED art chantries best shit is basically more or less straight lifts from Archie comics.
I mean..OK so Connor now owes 37 cents to dow cornings insulation division.
OH MY GOD!
i lifted. its known that i lift.
i cant draw badass like fisher and gunsho and stout.
thought it fit really well.
didnt realize it was an award winning design from way back.
All I know is that if I scroll the poster up and down on my screen and stare at it for a full minute and then look at the wall, the wall breathes.... WHOA :o
damn 8-ball, chill out.
the first comment, chloe laid on this one was "this is great". then she discovered that the crucial element of this composition that makes this design work so well, is someone else's work.
no big deal. conner's done some great posters (the turbonegro posters are absolute classics). i don't think that there's anything wrong with calling someone on something they've appropriated.
as far as whatever beef you have with chloe, either get over it or keep it private. it's old.
8ball - if you are gonna lay accusations , back your shit up.
as for the personal insults - grow the fuck up.
i have no personal beef agaisnt conner- i would have called ANYONE on a direct rip like this.
scanning in another artist's poster and changing the text IS NOT the same thing as using clip art.
clip art is royalty free.
my 2 cents.
1. i dont care for this too much-famous or not. however-i like ALOT of connors work! great artist!
2. clip art-no matter if its famous or obscure- IS THE SAME THING-STEALING. people who use clip art should really consider this.
pot kettle.
Connor apparently ripped this..so fucking what...however, the canadian midget had to assert herself and make a point of calling him on his shit...
The question is why?
I was addressing that fact...
fuck you, canadian midget...
your shit was ripped a LOOONG time ago..Apparently you feel a midget's desire to have people suck your ass because of your intimate ability to bookworm your opinion through apathy...
I smell compatriot jealousy..
You might've called a 'designer' on his shit...but you fucked yourself more than you know...you've re-affirmed my belief in your artwork...
100% bullshit...
and I'll sing your praises, hooker..
P.S. Not to leave you high and dry...you'd make a lot more money if you got over your ego..
If I saw this existing op art somewhere & were given the choice to either design this poster using what I thought was a cool graphic, or opting to draw something with my feet, I'm pretty sure I'd go with Choice A.

Man, I like the fact that someone uses reference books, and someone also references from stuff they have laying around... If they werent then where would the progress come from. I like the lines, and all, dunno if Id have given it an award in 78, theres no ewoks or jawas in it, so itd suck .
Tortoise are fucking awesome live.!! Saw em 2 nights in a row on there last OZ tour, theyre pretty amazing live.
i think this poster is pretty great, but i also think that the strength of the image lies in the original design, which isn't conner's own making. i haven't seen the original so i can't comment much further.
I would've never guessed this was Jared...but I have to agree with Mike...it does zero for me. It's that "designy" type thing that I don't "get".
But then again my brain is admittedly under-developed.
actually from the actual owens corning poster.
the poster doesnt list a designer
i dont reference old graphis books.
i'll leave that to "others"
back to the bbq.
You all don't know how many renditions Jared went through to get to this. So many pretty and nice things. But this one is awesome. The font rocks.
so many variations. :o
it's a good un.
This caught my eye for some reason...which is good for a gig poster...and then I see that conner did it...which surprised me...only cause its different for you...good stuff, I like.
