This poster rules. Buddy, your posters make trudging through Toronto with a paste bucket seem like a trip through the art gallery. |

Stacy, I know it's not a huge deal because you have a zillion all over town, but I accidentally postered over one of your posters tonight, thinking that the show in progress, and not tomorrow night. Sorry.
Always know the date when you go out postering, people. |

Welp Buddy, looks like I'll be layin' out posters on my roof! Hehehehe. The sizzling Florida summers could come in quite handy for some 'natural damage' effects. Cool idea - the construction paper. Cheers.... |

thanks y'all...hey stainboy, there's a small, out of the way art store here in toronto with a back room full of old 8x12, 12x18 and 18x24 construction paper. i have not told anybody here exactly where i get my paper, cuz i don't want anyone apin' my style. the paper on this poster is manila construction paper that is probably 4 or 5 years old. man, when i put these up on street posts and the sun hits em, in a couple days they turn the nicest shade of gold...it looks like they've been up for years... |

I love the color of the paper. Adds to the effect nicely. I've been experimenting with holding finished work over my electric stove top and lightly browning it for a realistic aged effect.....but the thought of doing this to 100 or more posters keeps putting me off it. |

This is just awesome. The deterioration is great, it just makes it feel more authentic for the time period/style it emulates. I love all the type work too. There's a lot in this for such a stripped down overall aesthetic. One of my favorites on here so far. |

wow, what a nice surprise! thanks gigposters!
old wrestling and boxing posters ROCK. they're so action packed, very effectively using just 2 or 3 colours of ink plus the colour of the paper. Hatch Show Print out of nashville are a big inspiration as well. in general, i only use blue, red, yellow, and black ink for the posters i make. if it worked in the 1920's, it'll work for me...
...oh yeah, the blotchy bits in the red and blue seps? those weren't deliberate - that was stubborn emulsion that just refused to wash out. as i was trying to force it out, muttering under my breath, i suddenly had a mental picture of what it would look like printed, and immediately stopped trying to wash it out. suffice to say, it adds to the overall effect very nicely... |

Great choice, Clay! I believe the Tijuana Bibles site is how I first came to this site.
It's got a great look to it, this poster. Like it's from the bygone era of wrestling/boxing posters. And having the Sensational Destroyer(aka Dick Beyer) on it scores xtra points! |

I've got this poster framed and hanging right above my computer.
Why do I like it? Because it looks obviously hand-made. Great art. Great design. And.. a wrestling mask.
Oh.. and great band. Especially the movies included on the CD. Sweet. |
