sorry mr. george, but your latest new work reminds me an awful lot of seripop's work and i don't see the PP influence here whatsoever.
that said, i also don't give a shit. i like this poster, i think it's rad.
everyone has their influences. i'm also influenced and inspired by seripop. you need to take some of your own advice and give your ego a rest as well.
I still don't really see much more than a passing likeness. I would say that this had no more in common with Seripop than, say Daniel Danger does with Dwitt.
If some things have been said though that is a different matter (*note - I don't know if anything HAS been said)
maybe it would be a compliment if this kid weren't always taking shit on us and our work
in my opinion an artists should have a broad range of influences and try to bring thier own ideas to the table as much as possible
whatever
we have several diffrent flows but the main thing is is that we try to come up with concepts, in jokes and ideas that relate to the band, to thier music and to thiere personalities
this really isn't seripopish because their posters are more conceptual. this is pure decoration and lacks that certain 'something' (voice?) that is seripop.
i made the seripop comment about one of his other new posters and got creamed...
I DO like the style... even if it means not having one? how can you put a tag on brilliance?
Everyone is influenced somehow... I would take it as a huge compliment and also as a shot across the bow to keep progressing and avoid being trapped in one certain style for too long.
BTW, not saying that the seripops are not moving forward or only do one certain 'style'.... They have only been cranking out stuff for what, 2 years now. But when I look at other poster artists that have been around for a decade I always hope to see a progression or at a minimum an attempt to change style.
this is a nice poster. and yeah, seripop and the rest of us have got our influences, but this guy's biggest influence appears to be seripop.
yay seripop!
Even though you guys were clearly stating in your comments that this was not a seriop, I still insisted it was. Then I clicked on it and realised how foolish a position to take that had been.
