Chantry should not feel ashamed to have designed A Flock of Seagulls poster, in fact prior to entering the "where are they now" file, these guys were as "huge" as their hair at the time. They got the "Grammy" curse, and no longer have the hair, but the legend remains. Chantry even was prescient enough to feature the memorable doo too!
I actually saw TFOS on this tour (1983, I think)...It was my first concert....however against the tide it may seem, I still believe they wrote good songs....now, there appearance on that new show 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' left alot to be desired....
randomized. every time i see this i giggle. there is no humanly possible way to do a cool poster for "flock of seagulls". it's impossible.
i also did a pretty funny poster for "orchestral manuevres int he dark". it's also pretty lame.
some bands are so lame that they become impossible. kelly osborne isn't even as lame as these bands.
Foghat's singer was their songwriter and driving force; McGuinn, Crosby, and Hillman should reunite before they keel; and Mark Farner is a born-again xian.
This guy used to live (maybe he still does) in the Allentown area in the mid 80's. His wife owned a hair salon. His version of FOS played a bar in Whitehall, Pa. Other bands whose used to play the same place were: Foghat, Byrds, and Grand Funk Railroad. All consisted of just the original lead singers.
A friend of mine opened up for flock of seagulls in Savannah. I wasn't on the list and couldn't find my buddy, so I paid my 7 bucks and went in. Later, I discovered I was the only one who actually paid to attend the concert. Really sad. It was a giant wharehouse sized venue too, so it felt especially empty.
