Yeah, that guy was dumb.
I'd flip if I got a job with Cartoon Network. When I had cable, that's all I watched, with some sprinklings of Comedy Central and The Food Network.
They'll be getting something, fo sho!
Dave, this guy didn't have any characters or a show either. Just a book full of cool drawings. He wasn't even looking for that kind of gig. He just wanted to do character design for one of the shows. He turned down thier offer. he is dumb.
Love the suggestion of guts behind the lettering. And everything else about it. It's kind of rare to see a lot of crosshatching that reproduces well...
I know of a guy who sent photos to National GEographic and made up a whole 'resume' even though he had never shot professionally...they hired him and he got to travel and be a photojopurnalist...goes to show you never know if you don't at least try.
alright.
I'm putting together a shit load of packages for big type peoples, and I'll add them to the list. I don't have a 'series' or a bunch of characters, and I think that would help.
You should send your stuff to Cartoon Network Dave. They totaly hire good people randomly like that. I knew a guy who got offered his own T.V. series just from his sketchbook. Your stlye is actualy very similar to his only your like 1000x better.
Ha! Thanks!
This was intentionally very Powerpuff Girls/Tom Bagley-ish. I started it last night at 9pm, done sometime around 1am.
This was going to be a painted poster, but the date changed to a week earlier, so i had to bust this out fast.
I'd like to be doing more things. Bigger things, and i'm trying to get myself organized to start pitching ideas. Until that day arrives, I'm having tons of fun doing these.
