slaterSend slater a message :   I didn't know the guy, this is one of my favs from him. This perspective is really tough to draw for me.   2004-09-04 21:58:29
JermaineSend Jermaine a message :   All loose threads lead back to EC...where Ghastly Graham Ingels holds them in his magical hand...   2003-04-30 11:12:31

BrainiacSend Brainiac a message :   Y'know, Gil Kane was around when the earth was new. You can't judge a guy's career by what he did in his waning years. Here's an example from some of Kane's finest work from 1959, and one of my favorites from the late 60s   2003-04-30 10:40:09

robschwagerSend robschwager a message :   Buscema is the master. Period.   2003-04-30 09:54:10
ENothingSend ENothing a message :   I feel the same way Finch. He was a master of anatomy, fine compostions, but hated his inking (I think he just used a Pilot Razorpoint or something similar for EVERYTHING). All his people, aside from hair color/style looked identical too.   2003-04-30 09:50:02
FinchSend Finch a message :   oh yeah - he made Conan look too pretty...and everyone knows that Barry Windsor-Smith is the only one with the license to make Conan look "pretty".   2003-04-30 09:47:07
FinchSend Finch a message :   There was something about Gil Kane's art that I never could really stomach - maybe it's because my first exposure to him was through a brief stint on Conan the Barbariant that he did during the early 80's that had a decidedly un-Buscema style to it. Here is an example
For some reason, I never liked the way he handled his line weight, shading, or something...oh well, nobody cares and I'm rambling.
