Y'know, Gil Kane was around when the earth was new. You can't judge a guy's career by what he did in his waning years. Here's an example from some of Kane's finest work from 1959, http://www.teako170.com/sh22.jpg
and one of my favorites from the late 60s
I feel the same way Finch. He was a master of anatomy, fine compostions, but hated his inking (I think he just used a Pilot Razorpoint or something similar for EVERYTHING). All his people, aside from hair color/style looked identical too.
There was something about Gil Kane's art that I never could really stomach - maybe it's because my first exposure to him was through a brief stint on Conan the Barbariant that he did during the early 80's that had a decidedly un-Buscema style to it. For some reason, I never liked the way he handled his line weight, shading, or something...oh well, nobody cares and I'm rambling.
