Man I wish I had friends that I could talk about records with...
Curses, Spells, Voodoo, Mooses is an absolutely incredible record, been looking for a vinyl copy for weeks.
Funeral At The Movies/Ten Spot is fully realized brilliance. Probably their best.
Get Your Goat is the last one I can dig... It has moments that are better than anything but it's also like weird, haha.
Stan's work rules. I remember this one, it's an awesome poster! Wasn't this done for the Moe tabloid that Chantry used to art direct? Stan was one of my biggest influences and a mentor in helping me learn the ropes in the early days. I worked as an assistant of his and inked and colored a comic that he penciled back in the day (the late eighties, yikes!). This is no joke, if Stan took even a mild interest in the poster scene and did a handful of silkscreens, he would put us all to shame. For real, everyone would trip! Stan's skills are endless and an inspiration to me still to this day. Alright enough butt kissing, show them what I'm talking about dammit, get to work man!
living in tacoma, buying and fixing up property and picking up what he can get. he was doing some pretty high end stuff for awhile, but i guess things slacked (again). times are still tight for illustrators, i guess.
stan shaw is an amazing illustrator/cartoonist/designer/historian (of old illustrators) who lives in tacoma. he was an old friend and often did work for the rovket. he's worked for eveybody from disney to dc comics and back again.
