Ha! I can't believe you know of No Warning. Thats too fucking funny. I didn't think anybody outside of the Bay Area knew of us.
What was the name of the band that did the Lou Guzzo song? The Refurzors maybe? I remember all of the leagl stuff. I got all kinds of propoganda flyers from that band about it. Pretty funny. They really didn't seem to like Mr Guzzo
i remember no warning - not much but i remember you guys.
the ever rat thing seemed to be a pretty shoddy operation that petered out quickly. probably best not to get too involved at the time. you lucked out.
kill lou guzzo? do you know who wrote that song? it's been a secret for a long time because ol' lou got pissed and tried to take legal action (what a twit). but now that he's dead and forgotten, i guess it's safe. mort (the fat guy) from the mono men wrote that. funny, huh?
I was in a speedcore band called No Warning. We were very much like the Accused, C.O.C., Agnostic Front, DRI..shit like that.
The label was called EverRat. The guy also owned Alchemy and I think Subcore. You must know the guy I'm talking about. He put out stuff by that band that did the Kill Lou Guzzo song. I can't remember thier name right now.
srangely, it was tapes of vanderhoof's punk record collection that buzzo gave curt cobain and turned him on to punk rock. it was how curt found out about bands like the vaselines and stuff. a drag queen known as 'satin sheets' leaves his old band, shortens his name to satz and organizes a punk band. ten years later his bandmate's record collection passes through some hometown friends' hands and we all end up with nirvana.
i love the strange networks of pop culture.
The Lewd were great (and kind of still are) I ALWAYS wondered what was done to their faces, if they were just a gang of obscenely deformed wierdos or if someone knew some cool photocopy "swishing" technique. TAPE!! well I never... It would have been better if they really looked like this though.
this is from about 1978. satz was a whiz kid and later started the lewd. the fat white guy on the far left is 'blobbo' - kurt vanderhoof (of aberdeen) who went on to form a band called metal church. they have tape on their faces.
