hey keef! cool to see u.. i was more than happy to work on the poster, it was a project that suited me and i could experiment with it..
glad to hear the gig was a success..damo and i kept in touch and i got to see him play in bristol in 03..love his stuff, he's a complete one off..he also stayed on the couch that night in bristol while i had the sofa bed! (he was comfortable where he was) ..im actually just putting the finishing touches to damo's new cd cover (suomi), his son mirko designed the first of the two (holyaris)...both albums are out in the next couple of months..
the horsehair in the face sounds painful, but i can see the amusing side
cheers man
Hey Steve ...
I'm the Keef Roberts on this poster ... this was an *incredibly* special gig for me and a really fun time (we filled the place despite an impending snowstorm and Damo and Jonathan didn't arrive for the first set scaring us all to death). Just wanted to say great work and thanks for reminding me how WONDERFUL those 3 hours or so we played were, some of the most fun music I've ever played.
Great tidbit -- Jonathan LaMaster was gearing up for a spotlight in the second set and picked up his electric viola -- I was entranced in the groove we were creating, eyes closed, swaying .... suddenly woken back to life when all of the horsehair on his bow flew off and slapped me in the face. We lost a couple of minutes in the set laughing over it.
Anyway ... thanks a million, great work.
I have been on a Can kick too. Last night while working in my studio I listened to Future Days, Ege Bemyasi (easily one of my favorite records of all-time), Tago Mago and Monster Movie. I almost listened to "Yoo Doo Right" a second time becase it got me so psyched.
thanks again my friends, well it basically evolved from gray's anatomy book, i took the network idea and spread it out from the human head diagram, made it up as i went along really, anna was spot on, it was more spontaneous than my usual efforts, i traced over the brown bits and did seperate photocopies, turned out as well as i hoped, i think! cheers:)
yeah . wow. really amazing art,so spontanious and not so well planned as usual.. sensual lines. it makes me remember a filme called Metropolis.... don´t ask me why. i donno
anyway. i can see lots curves. this is really sexy, parts of human body mixed with weired stuff.. cool
thanks a bundle for the comments folks, this was my first attempt using the tracing paper/photocopier method, its printed on grey paper, i did some in green aswell, which was the original intention, but brown looks better:)
