shawnknightSend shawnknight a message :   Really like the translucent black and the big silly trapping. :) Main type is great & I love the mess of an image up top.   2009-12-23 18:47:46

JustinHeltonSend JustinHelton a message :   i just mix black paint, speedball...and what the hell ever black in my blacks and they are dark as shit.   2009-12-23 12:54:47
Young MonsterSend Young Monster a message :   Correct - this is a digital comp. The ink we use is Matsui black. It is not a completely opaque black - it shows the trapping - and I exploit that sometimes. I tend to like big traps but I guess that is a personal preference.
Sometimes in the past it has been more or less transparent depending on the ink we have used and what we have mixed with it.

HrabovskySend Hrabovsky a message :   I use a bar-mat black sometimes. Just mix small amounts of left over inks that aren't worth saving into a jar of black. YM consistently getting awesome.   2009-12-23 11:54:34
kentddSend kentdd a message :   You post digital comps here right? So this isn't the printed piece. I dig the slight transparency. When you have printed in the past, has the black been as transparent?   2009-12-23 10:57:58
john seaburySend john seabury a message :   Love the hand drawn text. The bleed through don't bother me.   2009-12-23 10:30:58
TenebriniSend Tenebrini a message :   Yeah. What brand. That's the one thing that made me cry about my Helmet poster. The black wasn't black enough and my shitty trapping shows through. I tried to be so smart and simple and still missed the mark.   2009-12-23 09:22:57
Young MonsterSend Young Monster a message :   what brand?   2009-12-23 09:09:49
RichieGoodtimesSend RichieGoodtimes a message :   Oh, well you can totally get rid of that contrived shit with a more opaque black.   2009-12-23 09:02:29

RichieGoodtimesSend RichieGoodtimes a message :   You need to use a more opaque black because all of your trapping is accidentally showing.   2009-12-23 08:36:29
