Final Fantasy (aka Owen Pallett) makes some interesting tunes. He won the first Polaris Prize, which is akin to the UK's Mercury Prize. Snazzy illustration, BTW.

final fantasy is a pretty respected one man avant pop band from toronto. he's done strings for arcade fire and fucked up and is a pretty cool guy.

I thought the name was a little weird too. Made me wonder if any lyrics were about the games or if there was any connection at all...seems not, it's an odd choice for a band name to be sure...they're good though from what I hear.
