Wow! I am so happy I found this. Charles Burn is the greatest artist to ever dip a brush into india ink. I wish he did more posters. Easily one of the biggest influences on me. Love this poster. Just came across a box with a bunch of RAW mag stuff in it the other night. I didn't know he went to school with all those other people that is great.
charles burns used to live in the nw around '80 (he went to evergreen with bruce pavitt and lynda barry and matt groening and a buncha other folks who became major players.) he did those early subpop cassette covers (for the 'subterranean pop' 'zine that was bruce's first precursor to a column in the rocket and a radio show on kcmu and eventually to record label success).
charles burns did maybe three or four diferent punk flyers in seattle around that time - i think all for the skinny ties. i don't know what his connection was to the band.
the boren street was a gay disco.
