On the one armed drummer... I remember at the show, when it was time for his big drum solo the crowd went nuts in support of the one armed drummer, but then it went on and on... the never ending one armed drum solo. I remember the people around me quieting down and getting bored. I think the rest of the band was under the stage getting laid.
that was a funny read right there. Art was cracking me up. Should have at least made Cheap Trick the same font size as the other clowns. They had way more good records. Def Leppard had On Through The Night, High and Dry and Pyromania. Poison had one good record but they still looked like a bunch of girls on it.
Live what down? That you don't care for Poison? I'm kinda baffled. I don't give a shit if someone doesn't like what I like. What about me has ever given you the idea that I give a shit? Like always, I will continue to do whatever the fuck I please.
it won't work, richie. you stepped in it up to your kneecaps and now you smell like... POISON.
i'll personally see to it that you'll never live this down as long as you live.
especially the part about the mirror games...
When I first saw Poison's first album on the shelf in the record store I thought it was a chick band like Vixen. Upon finding they were dudes, I instantly dismissed the band as being really lame. Hearing the music didn't help sell me on it at all.
i like the monkees. do you?
i don't like poison. they're a silly crappy band.
if i like the monkees and think poison are silly, doesn't that put them on a rung below the monkees? say, sort of around the banana splits but above the archies?
I'm not a Poison fan, but I won't deny that I probably wouldn't turn it off if it was on.
Spot the difference?
And in the 80s, which I was too young to see, I'd bet a Poison show would have been a pretty awesome party.
so, i guess that i don't have to explain why i think the monkees are so great, right? because good rock music is good rock music and stupid silly things don't count.
i think even jann wenner would admit the monkees were a better rock band than poison.
the jury is still out on the archies, though. they put out some pretty damned polished single, i have to admit. they were the abba of their day.
i really don't understand this huge "poison" revival the industry is going through. what's with that? everybody thought that band was crap even back when they were popular. even THEY thought they were crap.
