Art, I've designed thirteen gigposters. Every single poster I create is an attempt to kick it up a notch. The best piece of advice I've ever received in my life was from a professor who simply said "Do better." It's what I plan on doing. If I ever have hundreds of posters, just like all the other amazing artists on this site, and you still think my work is trite and contrived, please tell me. Plus, I still think that a dick nose trumps any poster critique a person can make.
sorry. i sorta lost it in that last comment. this is actually a very nice piece and the artist should be proud of it. my comment is more of a crit of contemporary gigposters in general. i'm just sorry i made it in relation to somebody's actual specific effort.
if this were done by a student in my class it would get an "A". no joke.
how layers removed from the original style is this thing anyway? shall i peel off layers? what's at the bottom?
it's like gigposters have all become homogenized combo deluxe versions of rips of copies of imitations of copycats of derivative thinkers trying to look like somebody from 25 years ago...
no offense, but you need to kick it up a notch.
