leeleeSend leelee a message :   due to a ton or random requests, ended up offset printing a limited edition run of these on finch bright white, uncoated 80lb cover weight stock (which shows off the minute details not evident on the cheap flyers nor digital version.) anyone interested in purchasing a poster for posterity (!!!) + helping me pay my NYC rent can write to me at lee at chronicallyaskew dot com and i will personally flat wrap a copy and mail. :)   2009-03-15 10:59:25

Om SatoriSend Om Satori a message :   "for the record i've never seen this toy interpreted as a 2d item" . . They've even made fun of it on Family Guy. But I seriously love what you did with it. Couldn't have turned out any better.   2009-02-26 08:14:56

leeleeSend leelee a message :   it was a b*tch to create. chopped up thin strip magnets in a coffee grinder then photographed over the main dude beneath raised acetate. and the other details, which are more apparent at full-scale (weathered board, nicks & scratches, sheened 3D curve of the plastic edges etc.), were created in photoshop. i drew the character in illustrator. (a matching "draw your own hair" interactive banner ad is soon to follow!)
thanks for the nice comments. :) p.s. davy crockett is apparently tim's dream get-up...check out his pitchfork tv show "beardo" for the 'heart-gone-wrong' $2 haircut reference. hilaaaarious.
p.p.s. guess who posted this on his blog: moby dot com backslash journal
p.p.s. for the record i've never seen this toy interpreted as a 2d item let alone with unexpected wording swaps...only actual toy remakes for kids with predictable suggested dos. though it's a pop culture classic so i'm sure someone else in the world if not several have been equally as inspired at some point.
