back in them olden days or yore...
back before there was a gigposters...
way back maybe five yearn ago...
we NEVER had a problem with multiple poster for one show. that was because the promoters HAD TO PAY US TO MAKE THEM. weird idea, huh? actually getting paid to work? but, believe it or not, that was the way of the world in those days or yore.
i love the modern world. we get to do everything for free and never ever have to get paid anything. so much easier.
Multiple posters for a show that the band is trying to sell posters for as well might not be in the best interest of the poster artists. We have been guilty of this before when we were unaware of an official poster. It happens sometimes.
I had no idea there was an "official" poster or that anyone else was doing one until I saw them posted here. Not that I mind - I think they are all great and I appreciated being invited by the promoter.
cool. thanks connie. Theres no problem with posters done for promoters..I mean hell i work for one...it was just funny to see a a number of posters added for one show. Kinda lame on the promoters part however to ask multiple posters to be done.
We also had permission from the promotor to do this show but..... when we saw Justin's posted as the official poster we trashed it.
There seem to be too many poster artists in Nashville these days for the small number of shows going on and Nashville is losing a venue to boot. Oh well.
"We did the poster for the promoter" and I'm sure someone else got permission from management and the other from the venue. Sounds like Austin, a big 'ol clusterfuck. Oh well, promotion is promotion is promotion.
We did the poster for the promoter, it was pretty last second. The other posters look great. I was just playing off the last MMJ poster I did. http://www.gigposters.com/poster/75120_My_Morning_Jacket.html
I love hatch, but this is pretty close to something I did 3 years ago conceptually and for the same band. Not saying they copied it but its pretty similar.
